Microevolution ie forms of adaptation are practical, but why believe in macro when the evidence is s

There is a *lot* of evidence for macroevolution. Scientists simply would not support it so overwhelmingly if there wasn't! Period. Scientists live, eat, and breathe *EVIDENCE* ... they are NOT universally stupid or corrupt.

Sorry the following is so long ... but I first have to clear up the common misuse (or misunderstanding) of the terms 'microevolution' and 'macroevolution', and *then* address the evidence.

There is a lot of confusion about the difference between the terms 'microevolution' and 'macroevolution.' It is *NOT* some fundamental difference found in nature. In other words, macroevolution is simply the same process that produces microevolution, except on much longer time scales. That same process is simply called "evolution" ... and there is no fundamental difference between the two *in nature*.

It is a division that *biologists* sometimes make when *studying* evolution (in the same way that we distinguish between 'biochemistry' and 'molecular chemistry' ... but there is no real barrier between the two *in nature*). Microevolution is "evolution below and at the level of species." And macroevolution is "evolution at and above the level of species" ... but both include evolution *at* the level of the species ... i.e. the split of species into two species, which has been documented both by experiment and observation.

The only reason biologists make the distinction is that microevolution occurs on timescales of a few years ... while macroevolution occurs on longer timescales ranging to thousands or even millions of years. Thus microevolution (and some forms of macroevolution) can be studied using direct experiment ... while macroevolution mostly relies on observation (which is an equally valid way of doing science ... in fact, many sciences rely almost entirely on observation ... geology, astronomy, astrophysics, archaeology, anthropology, paleontology, climatology, meteorology, etc.).

Creationists try to exploit this difference between experiment and observation to imply that there is "little evidence" for macroevolution ... or even that macroevolution doesn't qualify as a science at all.

This is of course rubbish.

If there wasn't *tons* of evidence from observation that serves as powerful evidence of macroevolution, then scientists would not support it so strongly. The strongest of this evidence is the gene and DNA evidence showing unmistakeable signs of common ancestry between living species (not just a "relationship", but one of shared DNA sequences and genes that show *how much* any two species are related, and *when* their two genetic lines diverged). Almost as strong is the fossil evidence. But there is also embryological evidence, evidence from structures of species both alive and extinct, vestigial structures, homologous structures, atavisms, biogeography (e.g. the fact that kangaroos and all their fossils appear *only* in Australia), shared proteins, virology, bacteriology, etc. etc.

There is absolutely no reason the overwhelming majority (%26gt;98%) of scientists would continue to accept macroevolution if "the evidence is so little."

Whoever told you that was lying to you.

Microevolution ie forms of adaptation are practical, but why believe in macro when the evidence is so little?windows mail

As expected ... this was a typical creationist "post-and-run".

Ask a question, but don't stick around for the answers.

... My thanks to all who voted. Report It

Microevolution ie forms of adaptation are practical, but why believe in macro when the evidence is so little?microsoft maps internet explorer

There is no known mechanism which would prevent microevolution, over a period of time, from becoming macroevolution.

Think about it next time you're walking your dog or eating an ear of corn.

Edit:

Oh man, I'm about to get pwned by Secretsauce, LOL.
Perhaps you have a better theory? One which better fits the evidence? One which doesn't not involve some kind of wishful thinking, or supernatural phenomena?
There is no such thing as micro- or macro-evolution. It is all one thing, just the evolution of species.

Mozilla Firefox is awesome, so you'll love it, I promise.

As for why it crashed, it tends to crash often if you use too much media, such as Flash, Shockwave, or any other type of media used that is integrated into the browser in any way.

IE: proof of residency & income: living with brother, pay rent, not on lease. Will they report us

I'm 18 imacipated. Brother concerned if I apply for fian aid and use his address we will get kicked out due to Fian Aid reporting to apts. Also that his income will be requested by Fianancial Aid. I need Fian Aid to goto school. Is this true? Is all income of household required if I support myself? Does Fiancial Aid report you if you are not on the lease? How can I show proof of residency?

IE: proof of residency %26amp; income: living with brother, pay rent, not on lease. Will they report us to rentor?windows live messenger

They just want to know where you live so if they need to contact you they can. It does not matter where you live. If you are emancipated they will not care any about your brother. Proof of residency can be proved through your taxes they will send you paperwork if they need it.

IE: proof of residency %26amp; income: living with brother, pay rent, not on lease. Will they report us to rentor?microsoft money internet explorer

Call the school's financial aid office and ask them. They will know better than anyone on here. Tell them about your situation and ask about the best way to handle it. It's better to just call them and do it the right way, then do it the way you think it should be done and get in trouble. It also makes you look much more responsible if you call and ask for assistance when you know that you need it. They love helping people with that kind of stuff. That's what they're there for! Good luck!! :-)
Proof of residency usually means that you can get mail someplace and have a valid ID (driver's license) with the same address.

Financial aid does not call the apartment manager.

You provide information on your own income, not your brother's income.

If you are legally emancipated, or have lived away from your parents for more than 4 years, you do not report their income.

If it has been less than 4 years, you may need to report their income.

If their are specially circumstances, talk to the financial aid counselor at your school (or the school that you are applying to).

Hope this helps.
Sure, your federal financial aid application goes through a variety of different government systems before it is "approved" -- but housing/leases, etc. are NOT one of them. You have nothing to worry about there. Your Financial Aid Office has way too much to do to be reporting people to their landlords...

Beyond that... Who is asking for proof of residency? This isn't something that the Financial Aid Office will usually do -- not for federal or institutional aid, anyway. It is *possible* that you might be asked to prove residency in order to obtain financial aid from your state (i.e. if you're from California and are eligible for a Cal Grant or are from Massachusetts and could get a Mass. Grant). Most states rely on the financial aid office to collect residency information -- and they generally give more "proof" options than just a lease. You could, for example, submit proof that you have received your bills at an address in the state for (X) number of years and/or that you file taxes in the state.

As far as your brother's income -- DO NOT include a siblling's income on the FAFSA. He isn't a "parent," so it isn't relevant. If you were to use him in place of a parent.. well, it really messes things up for Financial Aid people when student's do that. Just read the FAFSA instructions carefully, follow them, and you'll be fine.

The only people whose income you should include are YOUR income and your parent's income. Why do I say parent's income? Because -- contrary to popular belief -- being emancipated by your state DOESN'T classify you as "independent" on the FAFSA. You will instead need to complete the FAFSA to the best of your ability. It will then *require* parent information as well as a parent's signature. Since it sounds like you will be unable to provide this information, you will need to then contact your Financial Aid office to request a Dependency Override. Simply put, until you are 24 or earn your degree [or are married, an orphan, a veteran, or have kids], only your Fin Aid Office can "emancipate" you (i.e. declare you independent) for Federal Student Aid purposes.
I think he means like state residency, right? I know at the school I work at they will accept a Voter Registration Card and a Driver's License. Anything less than a year in my state will mean you pay out of state tuition. Many states have much less stringent guidelines. I think when I was in California residency could be established sooner. Many places will accept a utility bill, lease, phone bill, etc. to prove residency.

Re IE 7 and yahoo mail?

Hi guys,

Anyone been having problems with IE7 and or Yahoo mail

I have been having lots of connection probs on IE7.

I have also been having same probs with Yahoo, tonight I cannot get into my emails, I can hear my email tone as I asked a question a moment ago on another subject.

I am running Visa, IE7 and when up to now I start up my pc and go into Yahoo, I am lways getting a menu fire up asking me for my user name and password, I keep getting this message many times even though I clicked the keep me signed in box.

When I was on XP I never had to do this, could it be anything to do with my pc not needing the BT CD, my pc recognised my BT home hub straight away and I was online via BT Yahoo.

I have a hunch that u guys will blame IE7 for all this trouble I am having, but is it true that on Vista and IE7 u cannot go back to IE6.

Thankyou guys for ur help.

IE Problem! Help!?

Ok, well I was on the internet a while ago and without thinking I went onto a porn site.

When I went on it loads of pop ups came up of gay/straight porn...I x'd out of it, but for days they kept popping up, so I got a spy ware thing and then they stopped.

Now my Dad's friend who is a major computer geek is coming down to look at our computer/hard drive and clean it but he is going to see all the stuff!

I am so worried he will tell my dad and get the wrong idea I got sick twice thinking about it and cant stop crying over it.

What can I do, I cant stop worrying, im not even eating properly!

IE Problem! Help!?internet explorer download

More than likely the anti spyware took care of it, but if you are wanting to clean up IE some more...go into the Tools menu and the Internet options.

IE7 - click on the advanced tab and then the reset button at the bottom to reset it back to mfr settings.

IE6 - on the general tab, click on delete cookies and then delete files (check the box for delete offline content also). When that is done, click the delete history at the bottom.

That should "clean" up the temps and history for it.

IE Problem! Help!?windows xp internet explorer

Dunno, but posting the same question multiple times probably won't help much.
download ccleaner to delete completely temporary internet files

and virus/malware scan the pc.

http://www.ccleaner.com
ok ur not eating properly, and crying over being afraid of your dad seeing wat uve been up to, sorry but i cant help laugh at that, riteo first of all is do a search for all .jpg and .bmp files, and see wat comes up delete any porn

second of all goto run and type in %temp% press enter and delete everyhing,

3rd of all dont goto porn sites, as u have found out u get viruses and spyware from it, if u are really that lonely go buy magazines
he'll probably clear without even looking. In any case this is not uncommon, if you haven't got a decent pop up blocker and ad blocker. That is what stops all those annoying pop ups. If you want to do soemthing now, clear the internet history , it's in options%26gt;internet options%26gt;press delete cookies and the delete files button.

It may not get rid of everthing but it's a start.
go to google.com

install google tools with spyware doctor se or something.

that will resolve alllllllllllllllllllll your problems
better than your dad's friend to find the porn you should format your hard drive
If he honestly is a computer geek then he knows very well how they got there. He may teas you about watching porn but he should know exactly why they are there. Then again he might think your dad is the one. If you are there and one comes up and your father is there you can look surprised and say, Well dad I did not know you could still get it up.

It is nearly impossible to have a computer and not have some hidden porn on it. I do ot look for it but I do find it from time to time and have to get rid of it.

No need to be embarrassed about it. sex is part of life and we all eventually find out what it is about. How do you suppose you got here.

Did you try installing the final release of IE7 it suppose to remove previous versions of IE7
A microsoft virus wont leave so easily...try suicide bombing your operating system.

In other words...reinstall...

Or maybe there are other ways.
Internet Explorer 7 you mean? I believe if you have a program installed on a PC and you have tried to uninstall it, it sometimes leaves some files on your PC and it has something to do with the computer registry. Did you remember any point on the uninstallation that it asked you something like this "There are some programs that are being used by other softwarek, do u wish to remove them?" IF you clicked no then it might be left on your PC still and its the content that is uninstalling and your PC still detects the IE as a program still installed on your PC.
system restore

winxp:

start%26gt;all programs%26gt;accessories%26gt;system tools%26gt;system restore
You should be able to do a system restore. Go to programs%26gt;accessaries%26gt;system tools%26gt;system restore. Then restore your computer to a date before that of which you installed 7. This may or may not work.
?DONT RESTORE TRY THIS FIRST?

Do this:

Start?Control Panel?Add/Remove Programs?Click on the program (windows internet explorer 7)?Click remove.

This will remove the complete program.
I tested all IE7 beta programs. And you have to download their final version IE7, an it will uninstall the program. The behavior is very strange because Microsoft will check to make sure that your platform has a valid key atleast four times with their "WGA" tool while uninstalling the beta version.

Then Microsoft will tell you that you must reboot your system, before the wizard will guide you through the new IE7. Plus Microsoft will also tell you that you monitor will be blank. (No icons or program will appear on boot-up. Only the wizard to guide you through the installation of IE7.

After the installation all of your icons and programs will appear on your screen. Plus the process is slow and you get the feeling that you will never see your programs in your system load as they claim.

All I can say is that everything went well for me. Althought I had some reservations, due to how slow the program installed.

Clinical Psychiatrist, France

Excuse my english
Isn't it amusing how people are always quick to jump to all the worst conclusions??

*Download the official "final release.

*Uninstall the version you have installed.

*Install the new IE7

Easy - problem solved :)

The reason you couldn't simply install beta3 over the top was that this option was not enabled in ANY of the beta/developer builds for more accurate testing in beta builds - was the best way of avoiding problems %26amp; inaccurate feedback caused by upgrade conflicts...was deliberate not an error
if it refuses to uninstall then i guess you will just have to suffer.
Just install the official release of IE7. That will remove the Beta version.
I installed IE7 a couple of days ago and couldn't get online with it, so i just did a system restore, now everything is ok again.

You can also go to Internet--%26gt;Security--%26gt;Restricted Sites, and unblock them if the sites are listed there.

Otherwise here is a good source of security, which is all you need, the program's name is Spybot Search %26amp; Destroy, which is the best out there for getting rid of spyware and adware (harmful threats to your computer).

Follow the simple instructions, and get rid of anything from your computer, by clicking "Check for Problems", which will make the program do a scan on your computer, and then when it gives a list of problems, when they are all highlighted, and checked click, "Fix Selected Problems" to get rid of them, then restart your computer.

Here is the site:

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirro...

Click on the link that says "File Forums", and says "Editor's Pick" on it, the program will download shortly.

This will hopefully remove the problem. If it doesn't work call a computer technician.

EDIT: A lot of people do hate Internet Explorer 7, but trust me it is the best, it is slow because it's been updated, and is more secure.

Why ie it that Saddam can be executed so quickly but we allow so many on death row to "hang out

supposedly an American judge is upholding the decision of an Iraqi court ...........he is to be hung this saturday!

Why ie it that Saddam can be executed so quickly but we allow so many on death row to "hang out" foryears?internet browser

Because this country has too many damn liberal lawyers who file appeal after appeal for these scumbags and as far as I am concerned lethal injection is too nice. Time to fire up Old Sparky, use the Hangman or Firing Squad and conduct executions in town squares like the old days

Why ie it that Saddam can be executed so quickly but we allow so many on death row to "hang out" foryears?windows media center internet explorer

Iraq doesn't have a chapter of the ACLU.
This an Iraqi matter and we should butt out.
Because this is not our judicial system. And...I'll believe it when it's over.
I was thinking the same thing. Backward in most things but more efficent in this case. They don't have the money to throw away on crooked lawers and legal systems that tie things up for years. The people wouldn't stand for it. You get to appeal in thirty days,

denied, you die in thirty days, and in this case much sooner. Can't get more efficient than that.
That is the difference between the American Government and the Iraqi Government. It is the Iraqi Government that wants a quick execution. And the American Government is just all for it.
It was a decision made by the Iraqi people. An American judge is only there to make sure the Iraqi laws are being followed, he's not imposing the American laws.
i was wondering the same thing today. I live in Oklahoma, and there is this man who went to a crack house and killed 5 women. He did this in 1989. He was found guilty. All DNA was on him, and all DNA was found on the females. He was sentenced to death. He is still sitting in McAllister prison.
America already has political leader that think are execution system is cruel ... wtf there ******* criminals who cares !!!!!!Thinks should change, there should be executions done within 30 days of the given sentence..
Other countries have different rules and regulations.Cost probably plays a big part in carrying out the execution swiftly
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!! Lawyers all make money for every hour spent working on anything ! So appeal after appeal gets filed, and the lady that holds the scales of justice keeps getting fatter, along with the bank accounts of the lawyers. Justice is swift in overseas courts, and our lawyers would get thrown in prison alongside the other offenders. Ahhhhh, one can always hope.......
I don't know where you heard this, but I find it highly suspect. He hasn't even been tried for the other crimes he's commited, but perhaps the evidence was flimsy and they just wanted to get it over with.

Anyway, there are several reasons.

A: This guy isn't just a 'murderer', he commited Genocide and ruled over the Iraqui people with an iron fist for two decades. He's been convited in the court of public opinion since before the invasion. There was no way he was going to be found innocent or end up doing anything less than dieing in jail. Find me a Death Row inmate that fits these qualifications and you've got an argument.

B: Iraq is in a state of de facto Martial Law. When there are car bombs going off in the streets of DC, the courts and police are held at a stand-still and goverment is bound and gagged by sectarian factions in America, then you'll be able to hang anyone sufficently unpopular any day of the week. No problem.

Until then, you'll just have to put up with 'Due process'. Some really smart people, who just happen to have founded this country thought it was important. Maybe you should have a little more respect. If it wern't for due process, you could be held without charges indeffinetly, recive an invalid trial, be the victem of torture and many other fates that are being visited on people we call 'enemy conbatants'.

I guess if seeing someone you don't like die sooner is more important than your right to a trial to you, you should write your congressman about it, but I wouldn't expect to find them very sympathetic.

And note on those other in here's commentarys about Capital Punishment in America. Personaly, I think if we're going to execute people, the most humane, fastest and most satisfying means of execution for all is just to put them on their knees ghestapo style and splatter their brain matter across the wall.

It's fast and painless. And it's nice and gory so the familys can finaly get that nice sounding 'closure' when they hear the *BLAM* and see the body drop and all you crypto-facists can get all whooped up, smear yourselves in warpaint and blitzkreig the Bill of Rights until you've reached your ultimate goal; complete and total submission to the state. God Bless America. Then the familys can get home and still feel hollow, realizing now that closure doesn't come through the actions of someone else. But you never call them anyway. Sure, they were nice enough people when they were screaming for blood but now they aren't furthering your cause, so f*** em, right?

Anyone who isn't for vaporizing someone's skull in a fine bloody mist doesn't really support execution. They support the idea of revenge, but they're trying to dress it up pretty so they don't have to feel like they're killing someone. They lack resolve.

That's what firing squads are all about infact. Nine men and guns, eight bullets, one blank and not one guilty concience.

So, until you're ready to pull the trigger yourself, quit whining about the ACLU for doing what is promised in the constitution. America is built on checks and balances, if you don't like it move to Iraq. They don't enforce the laws there and people can be executed without a trial, for any reason and for no reason at all.

That's what you wanted, right?

"To kill a man in a paroxysm of passion is understandable, but to have him killed by someone else after calm and serious meditation and on the pretext of duty honourably discharged is incomprehensible." - The Marquis deSade
because of wussy liberal over educated useless politicians and spineless do-gooders that dont have the stones to do what is right to murderers that killed somebody. this system is mucked up baddd!oh yeah, I like that 30 days after conviction they hang them, Iraq has its prioritys in line! must be that religion thing working?eye for eye???swift and quick!

go to microsoft.com and update your internet explorer
Uninstall the internet explorer and then reinstall the ie . it will solve the problem.

The problem may occur due to error in the file which is used to run ie.

One more thing you can do is to run chkdsk, this will check the hard disk for errors and solve it.

The IE 7 Beta 3 refuses to uninstall. I tried different methods. What else can I do?

Admit that you fell prey to their evil plan and upgrade to the full release copy of IE7 to lower the number of abnormal program terminations and security holes in the version you have. Install Mozilla, Netscape, Opera or another competing browser and use it instead...

Have u tried uninstalling from the start menu- programs? I tried deleting something from the desktop but it wouldn't allow me to. Other than that download tuneup utilities and u can delete unwanted programmes from that by going into the programme.

Is anyone still using windows ie 6? Will not switching to IE 7.0 cause any problems?download windows xp

I agree with David D, If you have Windows XP you should upgrade to IE 7. Security is poor in IE 6 and support will be limited. IE 6 was open to far more secuirty loop holes and is much easily taken over by spyware/hijackers.

My question for you is a simple one: If your car was broken and you had the option of puttting a more fuel efficient engine in it or putting the exact same type of engine in it before (the one that ran well but consumed more gass), Which would you choose? My point being is that as things change and update we as a society need to update with it. Taking a negative approach (not a careful approach!) towards a trend of moving forward only stunts your progression even in computers and learning. That does not mean the next time a service pack comes out to install it but to wait a few week/months for the bugs to be worked out.

Is anyone still using windows ie 6? Will not switching to IE 7.0 cause any problems?ies internet explorer

I am still using (and will continue to use IE6). I see no reason to change to 7! I have downloaded the MSN Toolbar which gives me tabbed browsing without the hassle of downloading 7. We have 7 at work and I hate it!
Not switching to IE7 (or Firefox, Opera or Safari, etc (i.e. away from IE 6)) will cause problems in the long term. IE 6 has rather weaker support for standards and has many more bugs then other browsers so it is more expensive for site authors to support (and they will stop doing so when its market share falls far enough).
i'm not really fond of ie, but 7 is ok. other than being a tad bit bloated.
i use ie 6.0 on other pc

i like it better then 7.0

for now you can use 6.0

msn might stop doing updates on 6.0 someday

like they did with 5.0
I'm still using IE6 and intend to continue using it. I tried IE7 and had more problems than I intend to put up with, so uninstalled it and went back to 6. Until Microsoft gets it fixed, I see no reason to change. As far as it's so-called weak security, I've never found that to be true.

Problems with the Search Bar?

Well, depending on your Search engine, you need to change your search engine in your IE7. I am currently using IE7 but there's no problems with the search bar. Try to change the search engine by selecting the arrow beside magnifier tool %26amp; beside the search box and choose one of the given search engines.

If your favorite search engine isn't in the list, click Find more Providers. A list of search engines will show up. Click on a website name or the search engine and it will now be in your search engine settings. After you select the search provider, choose the one who is default, type a word in the search box and click the magnifier tool.

But if it is in the list and you want to make it default, choose Change Search Defaults. You will see the search engines supported. Choose Select Default to your fave search engine.

Wats wrong with yahoo.com? IE can't load the page n it 'freezes' IE. I got no probs loading other websites.ireland internet explorer

I've been lazy all day and on yahoo, and had no problems. LOL My guess is that it's not yahoo, its IE, even though it loads other stuff. IE was voted one of the worst programs, it's crap. Use Firefox. It's a free browser. Google it and download it.

If you go to the bottom of your screen, you will see a box - click on it and it will put you where you want to be again. the reason it does this is because another programme is already activated. When you click to go online, it starts the other programme first, and minimizes the second.

FireFox, IE, or Netscape?

What browser would you recommend? My operating system is XP, 840Mhz(overclocked), 192 SdRam.

FireFox, IE, or Netscape?windows media player

I have FireFox, IE, NS, and Opera installed as I do Web/Software Dev...

- FireFox...ranked number 1 WebBrowser...

Nice features and doesn't overload your PC...

- IE - a Microsoft Product (lacks a lot of features) and has buggs)...the new version thoiugh (Version 7 Beta - which is part of Windows Vista) is Tab Enabled - supports Tab WebBrowsing...

- NS simply uses the IE %26amp; FireFox Plugins to provide support for both NS %26amp; IE WebSites...its really slow though...

A New release is now out - was out yesterday....just downloaded and haven't tested extensively, but comes with handy tools, as for speed wise, can tell now as I haven't tested that much to rate

- Opera - for sure as they say, the fastest WebBrowser on earth, but has no support for ActiveX though...

- As for SlimBrowser, NeoPlanet, and a lot of other Browsers, they simply use the Microsoft IE Plugin with their own interface and extra features...

FireFox, IE, or Netscape?windows live messenger internet explorer

Firefox. No doubt, dont look at the rest
FireFox
Mozilla FireFox
Firefox anyday.
firefox, it's got the best features, doesn't cost anything, and basically is just better than the others. it's so good IE even tried to make a rip off copy of it, entitled MYIE, but it pales next to firefox
i actually use slimbrowser. i have xp as well and i absolutely love it! heres a link! http://www.flashpeak.com/sbrowser/ I prefer it to FireFox IE or Netscape. It has alot of features the FireFox has but to me uts neater and more efficant.
Firefox.
Never Netscape, it is high on memory requirement. IE is low on requirement but could left you insecure, and if you use security softs, IE becomes high in memory reqiurement.

Firefox is best but in your system you should not install more than 3 extension and should not open more than 4 tabs.
FireFox
FIREFOX!!! It rockz!
Firefox

Firefox ! Has Tab-Browsing, a feature I don't like to miss anymore !
