it's kind of hard to remove it.
much easier just to disable it.

How do I remove IE from my laptop I have XP and IE is riddled with adware, firefox installed now?windows live internet explorer
you should not remove internet explorer as its needed for windows updates....but yes it is possible to remove it.
go to add and remove programes down the side there is icon add and remove windows components ie will be ticked untick and next
you need to get rid of the adware. IE is embedded into xp. you can't remove it.
Just set Mozilla to be the default. I still have IE installed but it never comes up on it's own.
you better use IE firewall.
you cant remove it, its is integral to the poerating system. better still upgrade to version 7
Spend the money and get Spyware Doctor... it's worth it.

It will help Firefox stay clean as well. It's simply the best spyware and adware preventer I've seen.
You dont need to remove it. Now that you're using firefox
the adware on IE wont be an issue as it uses seperate config files.
I agree with leedbelly, it would be easier to just dissable it but Add/Remove Programmes should do the trick.
No matter what anyone says, you cannot remove IE without special software. If you do happen to actually remove it, there is a very high chance your PC will be completly screwed.
Just don't use it anymore and set Firefox to default.
You should also lock down Internet Exploder by following these directions:

IE is integrated so heavily into Windows that you cannot remove IE completely without removing essential operating system files that causes Windows not to work.
IE does not have any adware, so if you are getting any, then this adware is third-party that simply uses IE. I would suggest installing some of the spyware programs that will remove any adware that you have. Free programs include SpyBot and Adware which you can easily find through any search engine. Or if you have the money, purchase CounterSpy or SpyDoctor.
Another possiblity is that the adware is an 'add-on' within IE. You can manage any running add-ons by clicking on Tools within IE. Make sure you don't disable any add-ons that you definitely need for IE to work correctly.
